The church doesn’t know how to handle domestic violence

BCDAF

Abusive relationships are damaging to people and can often go undetected by the friends and family of those involved. Even the church can sometimes miss the signs and fail to help those in need.

Reverend Kim Bacchus has had her own experience being in an abusive relationship and after feeling let down by her church came together with other professionals to create an organisation committed to training and empowering Black church leaders to appropriately support victims of domestic abuse and violence.

Here, Kim Bacchus talks to host – Cassandra (Premiere Gospel) about her experiences, the training and how to help those who may be trapped in abusive relationships.

The BCDAF offer training and support to churches and church organisations who wish to improve their responses to domestic abuse.
