The law, domestic abuse and the church

BCDAF

The Law, Domestic Abuse and The Church, hosted by the Black Church Domestic Abuse Forum, will provide church leaders, Ministry Leaders and Heads of Church Departments with information on how the recently passed Domestic Abuse Bill impacts the support churches are now required to provide to members who state they are experiencing DV and abuse.

*Nicole Jacobs*, Britain’s first ever Domestic Abuse Commissioner, appointed by the government, is the special guest speaker.

Come and join in talks, panel discussions and a Q&A.

Other contributors include

Pastor Michael White – Senior Pastor, The Tab, London
Dr Ava Kanyeredzi – Senior Lecturer, UEL, and Lead Member of BCDAF
Dr Jennifer Obaseki Family Law Expert, Obaseki Solicitors and Lead Member of BCDAF

Attendees should leave this meeting with a greater understanding of how changes in the law regarding DV and abuse effects how the church ministers to victims.

The BCDAF offer training and support to churches and church organisations who wish to improve their responses to domestic abuse.
